[Code Source] Mr Nutz 2 MD

07 Feb 2009, 07:43

Hi

I have been able to get the sources codes of the game Mr Nutz 2 for Sega Megadrive but i cannot compule thoses sources.

Because to create the Rom it's quite Hard!!

1 file is missing and i can't find it in the archive to make the whole ROM, file SEGA.OBJ must be transformed into SEGA.RAW and inluded in this file.

The assembly is quite difficulte and take place about the cli of 1200 or 4000, and necessite a good knowledge of the amiga.

However, with the source code of Mr Nutz 2 there is also the whole code of TURRICAN III for Amiga. All the graphics, the ASM 68000 code is commented in German and are inside the archive.

Mr Nutz 2 is the Megadrive Version of Mister Nutz for Amiga but better. More colors, and more levels.

So i need an Amiga to assembly the rom with Scripts and the CLI.

Here it is, if someone wants to try

I remember those shots from digital press. I'm glad it finally got released. Hopefully drx can do something with it so we can play it :D

Thanks a lot! Great to see more people release stuff.

I have an Amiga 600.

The keyboard doesn't work.

I'd be glad to do it when I both get a new keyboard and instructions for compiling.

A french friend... So easy to detect!

U r mixing a lot of infos together making your request very confused...

First, it's important to tell the readers that the screens are not yours and they are real. They were provided by a german programmer who was responsible for the adaptation of Mr Nuts 2 on Genesis. The project was almost complete but canceled at the last moment.
I sent all the infos to drx a while ago, to try to convince him to release the rom... But as the german guy is afraid of some legal issues he refused to do so, even if he accpeted to provide some screenshoots to proove that the rom really exist.

Mr Nuts 2 was released on Amiga. And what u r providing the community is the code source of the Amiga version...
It's nice but what can we do with it?
If it was so easy to transform an Amiga game into a Genesis rom, why don't all the exclusive Amiga games have been converted to a Genesis rom?

U have a dream, a sweet dream, but your dream is going to stay a dream for long...

I don't knew this detail, are you sure was a better version? I think was a port without any extra features...

If this extended version with brighter graphics has to be compiled on an AMIGA anyways it seem to me that this is actually an unreleased AGA version for AMIGA as well please someone attempt to compile it for WINUAE A1200 since that will turn out better than making it for KEGA because of the AMIGA's sound quality.

Talked to a few Amiga dudes.

We compiled it.

Shit was SO cash.

(we're still trying to find the problems, plus trying older version of compilers, etc)

Hope it works out, I thought the code was reported as corrupt or missing needed files or something.

This was finally compiled.

Seems like it's not the final version (no Ocean/Neon logos and it's still titled "Mr. Nutz: Hoppin' Mad" like the Amiga version) but the game seems pretty much complete.

I think Mr Nutz 2 was just a tentative title so that was the earlier beta. I think this may be the later version as the real McCoy on the AMIGA was called Mr. Nutz Hoppin' Mad and nobody would put their names on a Beta even if it was final anyway until it's all cleared for the final gold release to be logoed.

Edit: You're probably right about the Mr. Nutz 2 name thing at the moment there is just the AMIGA levels when the text at the start of the topic said there were more so this one really is the finished AMIGA version just ported at the moment with the richer colours as expected and it's 3 button now but all the help still says the AMIGA press fire which doesn't help you on that flying level as there is a different button system.

I'm lucky that I kept the uncut version of the source code as it ended up being downed so now I know about emu land doing this revision I can post the Mr Nutz. 2 version on their forum to do.

Just posted and hoping for an answer from them. Would help if it was an actual Russian posting that version of the code on there.

Maybe someone who is Russian can translate the text for me so they will definitely have a go at the proper Nr Nutz. 2 and the possibly different Ocean version of Turrican 3 as well?
