Beethoven's 2nd

18 Feb 2010, 14:08

Up for a community release is Beethoven's 2nd, an unreleased Megadrive platformer. It seems to be a completely different game than the SNES game bearing the same name.

It seems completely playable, I encountered no game-crashing or game-hampering bugs during the first few levels. It has no music, only sounds for attacks, jumps, etc. It has an intro screen, a title screen, some option screens. It has at least three levels, if I get any further I'll reply to this post.

I must ask, is there a special reason for this game being so expensive?

It really doesn't seem like a game anybody would want to raise money for.

Why not making a fundraiser for the Crash Bandicoot $700 proto instead?

I bought it in a pack of other games, most of which are crappy. You have to buy the crappy ones to get the "good" ones, sometimes. This is still much less than what I paid for them, but I'm probably gonna lower the price, heh.

Plus you have to understand that this is an unreleased platformer, these tend to command high prices (one recently sold for something stupid like $2000).

OK, I thought about it and I will probably do something like this:

-Beethoven's 2nd
-Putty Squad
-the Flintstones game

all for about $1400. This way each game costs about $466, which isn't unlike other unreleased Megadrive releases.

But first I need to figure out how to fix Putty Squad, it needs some kind of environment or something, it doesn't work properly.

I really want to get those games out there, but I really need just some of the money back for some costs, heh. I will probably do something I don't normally do and resell the original carts after the release.

drx is extremely correct! Unreleased games are expensive and, in my opinion, the ones must be released the fastest as possible, because they might get lost forever.

I wonder if SegaSaturno.com's people would like to donate for this.

What happened to Putty Squad and the Flintstones Game?
Weren't there any people who would like the Roms being released? Could you, drx, fix Putty Squad?
Can I still donate? I want these Roms being released.

I like Beethovens 2nd the movie. This game actually looks a little better than a NES game, mostly due to richer colors.
