An early prototype of '''Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition''' for the PlayStation 2.

This build contains many differences, cut content, as well as '''debug symbols!'''

It was built around 5 months before the game went gold and around 45 days after the first trailer, so it is ''quite'' unstable and requires '''a lot''' of patches.
==Notes==
* This build has a '''dongle requirement''', a '''memory leak''', and a few other issues. PNACH files to get around these issues have been uploaded as well as a cheat to unlock all cars. Thanks to '''Devildwarf''' and '''Ghostie''' for providing these.
* Found by [https://archive.ph/R1ZCA u/MommysSalami near San Diego]
** The build was made by a QA employee that wanted to keep a version containing his favorite bug (allowing one to '''slingshot''' their car across the map while '''drifting a certain way''') before it got patched.
**They also mentioned that '''more than one''' build has been made by that QA employee.
*Executable is named '''SLUS_123.45''', save says it's SLUS_202.10, which is just the next serial code after Midnight Club II's SLUS_202.09
* Debug info can be enabled by setting '''00690EAC''' to 1 or 2.
* All videos are placeholders
**Intro movies are actually from Midnight Club II
**Tutorial movies are videos of Rockstar logos rotating to the sound of a vehicle starting up with radio playing Limp Bizkit's ''[https://youtu.be/ADSTD-MprPs?si=nn_8_8Ej0o3Ek6Re&t=25 Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)]'', meanwhile police sirens can be heard wailing in the distance.
***An example of such a tutorial video can be seen [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQL4iNclSfQ here]
* Use quickbms and Dave.bms script to extract DAT archive files - see [https://zenhax.com/viewtopic.php@t=17531.html here]. Alternatively you can use DAVE.py (requires python) - see [https://ednessp.github.io/tools#Midnight_Club here]
* Address for editing money is 2BFEE44D3CC
*Cheat codes in this version:
**normal
**roar
**agro
**zone
**allcash
**cars
**parts
**cities
**cash
**all
**trythisathome
==Cuts==
* A '''cut song''' was found in this build's [https://hiddenpalace.org/File:MC3Oct2004StringTable.zip string table] - Yung Wun's ''[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK9tujntNj0 Tear It Up]''
* A '''cut vehicle''' is in this build - a 2004 Maybach 57.
**It was already known by the community to be cut and [https://youtu.be/sXZsg9xY9_Y?si=PSMusd7UnDLRizbi&t=831 even discussed by Kris Roberts 4 months before this build was released].
**It can be driven and is listed in the garage, however damage models are broken and going into body parts customization crashes the game.
* Other cut songs were found but they are already known by the community:
** Nappy Roots - Hustla
** Trick Daddy - Gangsta
** Fat Joe - Opposites Attract
** Trick Daddy - Let's Go
** Fat Joe - My Lifestyle
** R. Kelly - So Sexy (ft. Twista)
** Jazze Pha - Materialistic
** Fat Joe - Fight Club (ft. M.O.P.)
** Funeral For A Friend - Escape Artists Never Die
** The Grim Northern Social - Urban Pressure
** Damageplan - Save Me
** Authority Zero - Revolution
** Damageplan - Pride
** Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Return of the Dragon (Los Hermanos Remix)
** Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Windchime
** The Infiltrator - I'm In
==Differences==
These are only the most prominent differences - expand with more examples if needed:
*UI:
**Uses lots of yellow and blue.
**Tune your vehicle is named as "Tune Your Ride", you must be cruising in career mode to access this menu.
**A blue tint is applied over the screen when starting a race/cruising the city, takes 1 second to fade out during which the game is paused. A remnant of Midnight Club II.
*Audio:
**The main menu starts with a full version of Dark Energy's ''Nitestrike'', however it can cycle through all the songs in the soundtrack except the ones that play after a race ends.
**Many sound effects are different. Cars also don't make any sounds when hitting other vehicles.
**Almost no voice acting in this build - only pedestrians have lines.
**Some songs are uncensored (e.g. Trick Daddy's ''Let's Go,'' Hundred Reasons's ''Stories With Unhappy Endings'' and Peaches's ''Kick It''), some have different mixes (Trick Daddy's ''Jump On It'' has a slightly different chorus) and some are full versions of the songs (e.g. Dark Energy's ''Nitestrike'' and Galaxy 2 Galaxy's ''Hi-Tech Jazz'') instead of shortened ones like in the final game.
*Gameplay:
**Explosions' slow-mo takes far longer to end.
**Car physics are different - they roll more often, feel less weighty and are less "glued" to the road.
**Hitting opponents with a car while looking for a race doesn't activate them.
**Phil is called C.J. in this version.
*Cars:
**Some cars' manufacturer vinyls have different designs.
**Many price differences, e.g. SLR Vision costs $1,600,000 instead of $452,750
**Tuners' trim colors can be changed.
*Cities:
**All billboards are stand-ins (with custom artwork by Rockstar) that were replaced with commercials for e.g. album releases, products like Pepsi or TV channels.
**Train model in San Diego is different - doesn't have transparent windows.
**Train model in Detroit is different - has transparent windows, but no passengers inside.
**Lighting on maps is more pronounced. A lot more lightmaps and contrast overall.
**Culling is very buggy and some parts of the map can't be seen despite nothing blocking the view.
**Pedestrians can jog and walk through crossings
**Pedestrian density is also far higher compared to the final game and also can be modified in arcade mode.
**Some places in-game were renamed, possibly to minimize association with real-life businesses, e.g. [[wikipedia:SeaWorld_San_Diego|SeaLand]] into Water Park or [[wikipedia:Omni_San_Diego_Hotel|Omni Hotel]] into just Hotel.
**Many wooden posts have powerlines that connect to other wooden posts.
==Soundtrack==
*All music playlists are the same in every city - in the frontend, in the garage, during a race or while cruising, except after a race ends. Their content is as follows:
**The Martian - Lost Transmission From Earth
**Suburban Knight - Nightstrike
**The Martian - Star Dancer
**Underground Resistance - I'm In
**The Martian - Sex In Zero Gravity
**The Aztec Mystic - Aguila
**Suburban Knight - The Warning
**The Martian - Search Your Feelings
**Underground Resistance - Hi-Tech Jazz
**Underground Resistance - Return of the Dragons
**Orlando Voorn - Bite Before You Bark
**Fix - Flash
**The Tek Brothers - Denang
**B. Calloway - Direct Maniac
**Underground Resistance - Windchime
**Apathy - Drive It Like I Stole It
**Fix - Flash
**Grim Northerns - Urban Pressure
**Hundred Reasons - Stories With Unhappy Endings
**Peaches feat. Iggy Pop - Kick It
**Trick Daddy feat. Khia & Tampa Tony - Jump On It
**Trick Daddy feat. Twista & Lil Jon - Let's Go
*Music playlists that play when you finish a race are different though, but are the same whether you win or lose. Their content is as follows:
**Funeral for a Friend - Escape Artists Never Die
**Fat Joe feat. M.O.P. & Petey Pablo - Fight Club
**Trick Daddy feat. Birdman - Gangsta
**Nappy Roots - Hustla
**Trick Daddy feat. Lil Jon & Twista - Let's Go
**Jazze Pha - Materialistic
**Fat Joe - My Lifestyle
**Fat Joe feat. Remy Ma - Opposites Attract
**Damageplan - Pride
**Authority Zero - Revolution
**Damageplan - Save Me
**Twista feat. R. Kelly - So Sexy
==Known issues==
* Runs terribly on hardware rendering with default settings - either play on software rendering or disable depth conversion, partial source invalidation and enable "estimate texture region" in manual hardware renderer fixes. Thanks '''devildwarf'''!
* Hangs frequently while loading due to memory leaks - either during loading or immediately after the screen turns black
* Swapping the cars in the garage can sometimes cause a crash
* Opening NAV system or pause menu during a race will cause a crash with some opponents (Carlos especially)
* Sometimes finishing a race before all opponents reach the finish line will cause a crash after results
