Alpha version of Crash Bandicoot 3 : Warped. This version needed a dongle to bypass the protection , but now it's successfully patched.
A prototype of Crash Bandicoot: Warped for the Sony PlayStation.

Originally released anonymously, the initial dump that emerged online was missing much of the usual non-file metadata that the disc is supposed to have, such as file modification dates. A corrected dump was handed to [[Hwd45]] to release in July 2021.

==Notes==
-Different Warp room.
{{Tcrf link| Proto:Crash_Bandicoot:_Warped/August_14th,_1998_build}}

*A dongle protection is present in this build, which is a memory card containing specific data that needs to be read in order to boot the game. The game will reach the Universal logo screen before halting.
-Slighty different object placement.
**To boot the game, you can either download the memory card dongle file in mcd format '''[[Media:cb3_dongle.mcd|here]]''' (it must be inserted into memory card slot 1), or patch the disc image file using this '''[https://mega.nz/file/kfAV2ACT#BmQBcy0acjb5Q0ykqhvHDKE1hqARAQzH3wbzpO9scsY xdelta patch]'''.

*The title screen has a black background.
-Harder AI of the lab assistants of the bike levels.
*The vortex cutscene area, intro cutscene and outro cutscenes are all missing.

*Starts with a screen warning the user that the disc is a "Alpha Demonstration Disc".
-Music sounds different.
*A music track not used in the final version of the game plays at various areas in this build, including as the theme for the Warp Room, as well as being assigned to various levels which the music seemingly wasn't composed for yet.

*The load/save screen doesn't have the load/save text imprinted on it, and has a much more basic design, with a blue border around it. Coco also stands in place on the right side of the screen.
-No music implemented yet on the bonus and death routes, so the bonus keep playing the normal level music.
*A lot of elements present in this build are incomplete and use placeholders lifted from the previous game, like Crash's idle animations, crystal and gem particle effects and sounds, game over screen, etc.

*The alternate entrances for level 7 and 19 exist in this build, but are still inaccessible without modding, as these two levels are still programmed to only have one entrance.
-If you die on a death route you won't be able to come back to it.
*Sapphire Relics are known as Silver Relics instead.

*The system behind the unlocking of the 6th Warp Room can be considered points-based, with Silver and Gold Relics being worth 1 point and Platinum Relics being worth 2 points. 25 points are required to unlock it.
-On the level High Time during the transition between the normal level and the death route the camra doesn't cut off, it goes directly.
*Some colored gems are in different levels.

*Breaking a time crate won't freeze the timer, it will take away the amount of time from the box. Breaking a time crate with external factors like TNT or Nitro explosions won't subtract any time.
-The green flying insects o the tomb levels have a different texture on their backs.
*There are no specific music tracks for bonus rounds and alternate routes.

*Makin' Waves, Sphynxinator, and Flaming Passion are called "Aye Matey", "Sphynxter", and "Crash Kabob" respectively.
-Many levels use early or placeholder names.
*N. Gin, Neo Cortex, Eggipus Rex and Ski Crazed are missing from this version.

*In some levels it's not possible to break all crates, making it impossible to collect gems from them.
-A lab assistant rides the triceratops on the prehistoric levels, just like in a concept art.
*Gee Wiz's unreachable crates, in particular, are from an earlier version of its bonus stage, and hidden far outside the level.

*A cheat menu can be accessed by pressing '''Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle''' at the pause menu. You have access to four features, GET ALL, OPEN LEVELS, ALLOW CAM, and NO CHEATS. More information can be found in the TCRF article.
-No Cortex on the Tiny fight.

-The bosses lack any sound effect.

-Colored gems are swapped with each other.

-The purple gem path on Tomb Time is open, but when you get near it will close, probably you need the purple gem.

-Tiny and Dingodile's intros lack sound.
The power-ups don't have descriptions.

-The missiles on the N. Tropy fight are harder to dodge, they basically track you for a longer time making the fight much harder.

-Some levels have slighty different geometry.

-The music used on the warp room and some levels is the same used on the intro of the demo hidden on Spyro 1.

-The camera on the second warp room is different, showing an upper view.

-The level warp sphere graphics on some levels aren't present so they use the tomblevels graphics instead.

-Other level warp sphere graphics (like High Time, Crash Kabob, Road Crash and Orange Asphault) don't show their actual time of the day, they instead use the graphic corresponding to the first level of its type

-Time crates substract time.

-Sometimes polygons don't get drawn on some places.

-Even if you get at least 5 relics the secret warp room don't appear.

-The relics have different colors.

-When you leave a level with or without a crystal or gem the music won't play until you can move.

-There is a small slowdown when walking to the center of the warp room after defeating a boss.

-N-Gin and Neo Cortex aren't present.

-Going Tomorrow and Bug Lite lack crystals.

-A cheat menu with the Konami code is available.

-You cant access the 6th warp room and secret levels without the cheat menu.

-The magicans' spells on the medieval levels are harder to dodge, probably they have a bigger hitbox.

-The "STARTING TIME TRIAL" text don't appear.

-No sound on the enter name section.

-Most of the levels in time trial mode don't have time crates so run through the level as fast as possible.

-Many stopwatches are on different locations.

-On the pause menu during time trial mode instead of saying "REASTART TRIAL" it says "RESTART LEVEL".

-The save/file menus look exactly like Crash 2, even it uses the same icons.
