A prototype of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for the PlayStation.

Differences

  • Controls: Klonoa will move much-faster if CIRCLE is held-down while moving left or right
  • Controls: Klonoa can double-jump by double-tapping R1
  • Debug text: hold L1 to display this; while holding, press some of the other controller-buttons can to alter some of the values
  • Animations: Klonoa lacks the animations for going down slides; he just stands upright, similar to his idle pose
  • Vision 1-1: the invisible egg is missing before the first bridge; the blue gem is missing at the top of the stack of green gems on the first wind/fan

Notes

  • Compiled around 3 months before the initial Japanese retail version
  • Simpler Namco logo on startup
  • No intro sequence, goes straight to the title screen
  • Some difference in the instruction text. For example, some text boxes get skipped automatically (likely a bug).
  • The text box for starting a game is blank.
  • Difference in the cut scene when starting a game
  • Miscellaneous Notes:
    • Game is emulatable: Yes (as of April 17, 2021), though DuckStation currently crashes in the third area of Vision 1-1 (where you can run around a windmill, just before the stage exit)
    • Game contains dongle protection: No.
    • Game contains debugging symbols: N/A
    • Dump was originally scrambled: No
