An NTSC-U review build of Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX for the Sony PlayStation, dated eight days before the first available final build.

Notes

  • Seems to originate from a scene release, which due to the fact this build stems from a bootleg CD-R, can't be traced back to.
  • The text in the options menu isn't centered.
  • Several character animations in the player select are different.
    • Granny's uses an entirely different render.
    • Tony Hawk is standing in an odd pose with his bike on the ground, instead of sitting on it and relaxing with his hands behind his head.
    • Dennis McCoy's model has no lighting or shadows applied.
  • The text layout and coloring in the Level Challenges screen is simpler.
  • The song and artist info is missing in the Sound Options menu.
  • There's slightly more vegetation and a slightly modified ice skating rink in the 'New York City' level.
  • This build allows the player to unlock the "School" level from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which was likely scrapped from the final because of the many bugs it has.
    • Notably, any ramp that is directly attached to a wall, seems to make the player bounce off and bail.
    • Also, some kind of invisible wall will impede any attempt to enter the auditorium.

Cheat codes

In addition to having an extra set of debug cheats enabled, most of the codes used in this build have different inputs. A few of them would later be reused in the PC and Dreamcast port of the game. For the most part, the debug codes match the ones used in pre-release builds of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, since this game uses a modified engine of that game.

To unlock everything from the start, navigate to the "Press Start" screen, then hold down Square + Circle and press either the left or right directional button. Whereas in the final build, the entry would only be confirmed by a sound, a line reading "CHEAT MODE ENABLED" appears for a few seconds in the upper left corner.

The following codes however are entered in the pause menu, while holding down L1. A shaking pause menu will confirm a successful entry.
