Notes

  • Build date found in the ROM.
  • This build is almost identical to the late build that was distributed by ANTHROX (under the release archive name ‘ATX-TUFF’). However, the ROM that’s included in the no-intro set that’s currently floating around on the internet was modified from the original dump and contained the following changes:
    • 0x7FFC - The scene ROM was modified to start the game at 0x8028 in Bank 0. In the original ROM, the game starts at 0x8000.
    • 0x1ACD8 - The scene ROM modified the high score table to advertise a BBS while also crediting various suppliers. The original ROM contains a high score table mentioning names of the developers.
    • 0xA0961 - The byte at this address in the scene ROM is set to $01. The original ROM is set to $00. This change was confirmed by looking at a similar region in a ROM dump based on an earlier build. It's unknown what this byte is used for.
    • 0x120961 - The byte at this address in the scene ROM is set to $11. The original ROM is set to $10. This change was confirmed by looking at a similar region in a ROM dump based on an earlier build. It's unknown what this byte is used for.
  • The original scene ROM was further modified with additional changes, including an intro and trainer.
