Notes

The Cutting Room Floor research

This prototype has a research article on TCRF.

• Main Differences:
  • The game is titled as "SONIC ADVENTURE 2 (Beta)" when you open the launcher.
  • The settings page had an Anti-Aliasing option, removed before its official launcher.
  • Both Player 1 and 2 keyboard had different settings, unknown if the build is compatible with gamepad / XInput.
• Besides the differences above, the user needed to have the game on steam or a crack for it to work, otherwise the game crashes or open steam automatically.
  • UPDATE 2025-10-11: Crack done, but read the text file before. I also checked on VirusTotal the steam_api.dll file, and it's safe - so you don't need to worry about it.
