LBP3_r513946 is an early version of LittleBigPlanet 3 that was recovered from a PlayStation 3 development kit in October 2016 and dumped in February 2018. Dated September 20th, 2013, this build predates the final game's release by a year and two months. Given it's age, it has a lot of differences from the final game, and a ton of content that never made it past this build.

Graphical Differences

Changed Gadget Icons

Several logic gadgets had their icons changed between this build and the final game.

Broadcast Microchip

LBP3_r513946 Final
Lbp3 r513946 electronics inventory logic broadcast chip.png Lbp3final electronics inventory logic broadcast chip.png

The early Broadcast Microchip icon appears to be a circular Microchip icon inside of a dotted circle. This was changed in the final game to make it's function more apparent.

Colour Tweaker

The Quest Tweaker's early icon appears to be a scroll and quill inside of a square-shaped gadget. In the final game, all Quest-related gadgets use a chalice graphic, and the Quest Tweaker's shape was changed to a circle.

Preloader

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3 r513946 electronics inventory logic streaminghint.png Lbp3final electronics inventory logic streaminghint.png

The early icon for the Preloader (known in this build as Streaming Hint) is a squiggly line with question marks dotted around the image. It also appears to have been rendered differently from the rest of the icons.

Wave Generator

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3 r513946 electronics inventory logic wave.png Lbp3final electronics inventory logic wave.png

The early Wave Generator icon has a thinner wave line that is symmetrical. The wave line in the final icon is thicker and asymmetrical.

Character Animation Tweaker

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3 r513946 electronics inventory materials animation.png Lbp3final electronics inventory materials animation.png

The early Character Animation Tweaker's icon is two arrows pointing at two circles, likely representing a cycle. In the final game, this was changed to a doodle of a Sackperson with a play icon in it's head.

Opacity Tweaker

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3 r513946 electronics inventory materials fader.png Lbp3final electronics inventory materials fader.png

The State Sensor's early icon features a Sackboy inside of a coloured circle. This was changed to simply be a magnifying glass in the final, possibly to try and avoid confusion with the Player Sensor.

Character Teleporter

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3 r513946 electronics inventory teleporter.png Lbp3final electronics inventory teleporter.png

The early Character Teleporter's icon is a placeholder icon, being a crudely-drawn explosion. In the final game, this was changed to a doodle of a Sackperson with a spiral for a head.

Changed Stickers

Pumpinator Icon

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3 r513946 pumpinator5.png Lbp3final pumpinator5.png

This build contains an early icon for the Pumpinator powerup. The early Pumpinator model is coloured black, and is shaped differently with more glowing parts. In the final game, the only parts of the model that glow are the fan blades.

Changed Costume Icons

LBP3_r513946 Final Game
Lbp3alpha lil stink icon.png Lbp3 lil stink icon.png

Zom Zom (internally named "Lil' Stink") has the icon of a very different looking character.

Nana Pud

Lbp3alpha nana pud icon.png Lbp3 nana pud icon.png

Nana Pud's early icon uses a very different design that was briefly seen in the 2013 pitch video.

Changed Logo Video

One of the only videos in this build is a logo animation for Sumo Digital, which appears to be a holdover from some of the developer's previous games. The final video is a still image of a handmade version of the Sumo Digital logo that fades in and out.

Audio Differences

Newton Emotivox Sounds

Newton was originally voiced by Rik Mayall, however he passed away before finishing his lines. Hugh Laurie was later brought in to voice Newton instead. As a result, any traces of Rik Mayall's work - including dialogue, gibberish voices and emotivox sounds - were completely removed from the final game.

File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 10 narrator.ogg demo_10_narrator.mp3 We join Sack Boy in the midst of a great adventure. Lost in a different dimension, he is searching for a route back to Craftworld. So far he has fled from a fortress, escaped a madcap mansion and saved a cub from a bloodthirsty pack of wolves. One of three lines of dialogue that were used in an introduction cutscene for an even earlier version of the Story Mode. This would've summed up what had happened in the story up to that point.
File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 20 narrator.ogg demo_20_narrator.mp3 Sack Boy has been looking for the White Wolf Stone. It is said that the hero who places this stone in the ancient Sable Oak Tree will reveal a magical door into a new world. Could this be his way back home? Another line of dialogue that would have been used in an early introduction cutscene, explaining Sackboy's current objective.
File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 30 narrator.ogg demo_30_narrator.mp3 To get the stone, Sack Boy must find a way into the great White Wolf Tower and bargain with the fearsome White Wolf King - Albi. This is where we pick up the adventure... The last of the three lines of dialogue that would have been used in the early introduction cutscene, explaining what Sackboy would need to do to acquire the White Wolf Stone.
File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 40 narrator.ogg demo_40_narrator.mp3 Behold the mighty Sable Oak! Legend has it that the hero that places the White Wolf Stone into its broad trunk will open a pathway to another world... A line of dialogue that explains the context behind the Sable Oak Tree. For some reason, this line of dialogue is read by a different voice actor from the other lines.
File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 50 narrator.ogg demo_50_narrator.mp3 Sable Oak Village. Caught between the warring wolves, this once great weaving capital, built amongst the roots of the great tree, has fallen on hard times. Would have been used when the player visits Sable Oak Village for the first time.
File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 60 narrator.ogg demo_60_narrator.mp3 The White Wolf Tower, home of the White Wolf King. Albi's throne room sits at the sparkling zenith of this great fortress. Can Sack Boy sneak past the guards and scale the mighty summit? Would have been used when the player visits White Wolf Tower.
File:Lbp3 r513946 demo 70 narrator.ogg demo_70_narrator.mp3 With the White Wolf Stone pressed firmly in his Sack Pocket, Sack Boy and Rusk gallop through the King's escape tunnel in the direction of the ancient tree. Will the legend prove to be true? And where could the magical door lead? Craftworld? Or a new dimension, full of danger and mystery? This piece of dialogue would have been used after Sackboy had received the White Wolf Stone from Albi.
