|
A prototype of the unreleased port of Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge for the Nintendo 64.
Notes
- This build was extremely close to if not actually N64 Milestone #5, judging by internal documents.
- One of the source code backups matches this cartridge fairly closely, which makes it easy to use Ghidra to understand this prototype.
- The exact build gate has been confirmed by reviewing the changes in the VSS backup and determining the last source code change also seen in the ROM.
- The final N64 code changes occurred on December 14th, less than two weeks after this build.
- First known build with music, encoded with very low quality samples. The music is also significantly unfinished compared to the final game.
- Working sound test menu.
- Features a hub world.
- Contains many differences from the final version.
- Totally new UI from the Milestone #4 prototype.
- There is an overdump on this cartridge of an earlier build of Frogger 2. It only contains scenic / world data, which matches pretty closely with the MS5 build unfortunately.
