A prototype of Men of Valor for the Microsoft Xbox.

Notes

  • Dated about four and a half months before the first available final build.
  • On hardware, the build only works on a debug kit or a modded xbox with 128MB of RAM and a bios that supports the extra memory. It is also playable in XEMU when it is configured like a debug kit.
  • The original archive.org release by cubebert is missing the animations folder, which was causing most of the maps to crash. The reupload to Hidden Palace contains most of the missing files that were recovered from the HDD dump also provided by the user.
  • Human_Cameraman.ukx_c, Human_DIAL_Op1L1.ukx_c, Human_DIAL_Op1L3.ukx_c, Human_DIAL_Op2L4d.ukx_c, Human_Op1L1.ukx_c, and Human_Op5L1a.ukx_c were overwritten. The absence of these files shouldn't affect gameplay outside of occassionally causing models to t-pose.
  • Animated_Veg.ukx_c, Human_DIAL_Op2L4d.ukx_c, Human_Op0_exercise.ukx_c, and ModelHuman_Marine_large_black.ukx_c were able to be borrowed from the July prototype, which suggests that those files weren't updated between builds.
  • The Dolby Digital logo is absent.
  • No legal screen.
  • The opening and ending FMVS contain unfinished animation, while the rest have timecodes displayed over some of the war footage.
  • Different title screen.
  • Apparently the game was referred to as Men of Valor: Vietnam at this point in development. The subtitle would later be dropped.
  • A build string is displayed on the main menu.
  • No credits option on the main menu.
  • The game comes with a profile named Estep that already has everything unlocked by default.
  • Pressing down with the DPAD during gameplay brings up debug coordinates on screen.
  • A debug level select can be accessed while the game is paused.
