1. Notes

  • Predates the retail build by almost 14 months.
  • The build uses the title name "Hitman Silent War".
  • Original filename: Hitman IO_old-January Build (Silent War) -PDBS Included.rar

1.1 How to Make the Build Functional

Two ways were created to make this build functional because in the state the build is in, it would try to connect to a server that no longer exists.

1.1.1 Solution 1

.

This solution may be more accessible to certain users.

  • To select a level, delete or move the "isGameReleased" file to access the non-Steam launcher, then run GameLauncher.exe, go to the Configurations tab, tick "Toggle override configurations", and select a scene from the dropdown menu.

  • To stop the game from trying to reconnect to the non-existent official servers every 60 seconds, open engine.ini and delete the lines "ForceSteamAuthentication=true" and "ConsoleCmd OnlineForceAutoReconnnect 0". Disabling "Show HTTP Calls" in this menu will additionally remove the yellow debug text covering part of the screen.

This solution may be a bit more difficult for certain users, however it is also a way to make the build functional. This was the first known public tutorial.

  • For the build to work, replace "game.ui.dll" from this build with the fixed version (2nd download link).To select the level directly, edit engine.ini and replace "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/Frontend/Boot.entity" for example with "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/coastaltown/mission01.entity".

    • Other options are:

      • "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/coastaltown/_scene_mission_copperhead.entity";

      • "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/coastaltown/_scene_mission_mamba.entity";

      • "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/coastaltown/_scene_mission_meerkat.entity";

      • "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/coastaltown/_scene_mission_viper.entity";

      • "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/paris/_scene_fashionshowhit_01.entity";

      • "assembly:/_PRO/Scenes/missions/paris/_scene_whiterussian_01.entity".
