An early prototype of the unreleased Jazz Jackrabbit 3 for PC, compiled on May 1, 1999.

Some init/config files were last modified later in June 1999; the newest file was last modified 12/26/99.

Notes

• Based on Unreal Engine 1.
• Very incomplete, with several severe graphics and physics glitches.
• Earliest known complete prototype of Jazz 3; earlier assets and devdocs have been recovered.
• Contains a level editor (a modified UnrealEd) and leftovers of partially implemented multiplayer and 3D racing modes.

Origin

Apparently originally published by a former developer and subsequently distributed on MSN Messenger sometime in 2007. Later reuploaded, along with several other partial versions and assets from 1999, to newbiesplayground.net in 2018 by Leo T.C.K. These files were then taken down around 2020; archived snapshots of the page and the Jazz224.zip file were rediscovered in 2026.
