An incomplete and non-functional prototype build of Warzone 2100 for the PC from 1999-01-05 (about 3 months before the game was released).

Notes

The disc for this prototype was an Eidos branded CD-R with hand written text indicating it is "ONLY FOR PREVIEW" and the "BETA 1" version of Warzone 2100 for the PC. However, it does not contain any build of the game, only a collection of many .rpl files, along with a draft of the game manual and lists of the .rpl files in several formats.
The release version of Warzone 2100 consists of two discs. Like this prototype, both discs contain a warzone\sequences folder structure containing .rpl files. However, the selection of .rpl files on the prototype disc does not match 100% either disc of the release build. The release build also includes additional setup files for the game binaries.
CVLT OF OSIRIS members believe that this was either the first disc of a two disc set, or an incomplete build process by a developer. Due to the early video content, CVLT OF OSIRIS is releasing this disc image even though it is not a playable build of the game.
The .rpl files on the prototype disc are a proprietary Eidos format from the 1990s, but can be played using ESCAPEplay.
The source media for this release was damaged, defective, or degraded, and the image may not work as expected, but was the best quality available at the time of the release.
