A prototype of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for the Xbox.
Notes
- Extra features all have the same FMV
- Different opening FMV. The final version's FMV plays after the first map FMV
- Contains rough versions of released and unreleased FMVs, with stand-in voice actor for Michael Ironside
- First map cutscene has a different room arrangement and has lighting issues
- Speech has no mouth movements
- Several NPC animations are different, such as walking in the dark, and being shocked by a sticky shocker
- Levels can only be loaded from the in-game pause screen, not the main menu
- Pressing BACK twice during gameplay will enter noclip mode. Press BACK twice again to exit.
- Some levels contain minor layout differences, indicative of optimizations in later builds
- No ambient level music or ambient environment sounds
- Weapon balancing is unrefined, NPC weapon time-to-kill is significantly lower.
- Contains two unfinished cut levels: Nuclear Power Plant (later released on PS2) and Severonickel (later partially released as Kola Cell). Not playable by default, but both can be accessed via modification of default.xbe
- XBE information:
- Internal Name: Splintercell retail
- Maker ID and Product Number: US-12
- Executable Name: default.xbe
- Executable checksum (MD5): e2cc3a2a717fb74c618fec429da021b1
- Miscellaneous Notes:
- Game is emulatable: Yes (Xemu) (as of November 17, 2021).
- Game contains dongle protection: No.
