Crash Bash (Aug 23, 2000 prototype)
Spyro: Year of the Dragon (Sep 4, 2000 prototype)
Discuss this release on our Discord server!

Hello everyone! We hope you're all having a great start to your New Year. We have a lot planned this year, and we'd like to continue our strong start with two new prototype releases, courtesy of our friend Hwd45, whom you might remember from our Crash Landing release a few years back. These builds were dumped using a Plextor PX-W4012TA on MPF to ensure they can be accurately submitted to redump. As usual with Spyro and Crash prototypes, these are dongle protected and the appropriate memory card files will be needed to properly load these games.

For Crash Bash, this is to date the oldest build of the game seen, even a few days older than the demo included in Spyro 3! Speaking of Spyro 3, what was thought to originally have been a build from September 4th is now accurately reflected as September 11th, 2000, as it was found that the file modification dates on-disc do not reflect the actual build date of the game. Instead, build dates embedded into the executable have been used instead. Using this new data, this new release is the _actual_ September 4th build.

Once again, we'd like to thank Hwd45 for not only making these builds public, but also demoing them for everyone on our Twitch stream. We hope to showcase more big releases that aren't sourced directly from us on our streams in the future, so stay tuned!

Until next time!
