Notes
Initially pitched under the title of "Tornado Alley", July 2006 marks the first conception of Tornado Outbreak's Game Design Document. A revised version would be created on August 28, 2007 in collaboration with Warner Bros. Games and Loose Cannon Studios. It features quite a variety of differences that were ultimately reworked or removed from the final game.
- The initial pitch for the game revolved around controlling a tornado to wreak havoc on the environment while avoiding hostiles such as storm chasers and news vans.
- A proposed scoring mechanic revolving around the size of the tornado can be seen on the seventh page of the document.
- The game was initially pitched for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation Portable, along with Xbox Live Arcade. Although the Nintendo Wii port along with the Xbox 360 was released, the PlayStation Portable was cut early on, presumably in favor of the PlayStation 3.
- The document was initially submitted to the USPTO on March 1, 2007 and was made public on April 3, 2008.
