A small tech demo of a Lufia & the Fortress of Doom port for the Sega Mega Drive that was cancelled.

Notes

  • Port was to be done by a western developer and published by Taito for a 1994 release, later pushed back to Spring 1995. The last known appearance of the game was when it appeared in the winter '95 Consumer Electronic Show, or CES.
  • Despite this, it appears the game failed to make much progress. The only other appearance of the game to still exist appears to be in a similar state, only with a castle tileset, and Aguro and Jerin being replaced with copies of the main character and Lufia.
  • Contains no sound, all 4 character sprites are present, but the only areas in this prototype are a cave and the title screen. Treasure chests are non functional, and though exits work, they only spit you back out from where you came.
