Continuing on with our holiday offerings, have have a couple things to share with you today! Some of these prototypes were generously donated to us just in time for the holiday season.
First up, we have a prototype of one of our personal favorites - World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck for the Sega Mega Drive! This prototype is slightly later than the prototype already released, but this is the first time a proper dump of a similar prototype has been made available. Upon comparing the new prototype we acquired, we discovered that the other prototype had been modified from its source from scene group MAGICAL which might be the original group responsible for the release of the other prototype. There exists an alternative ROM with a hacked scene intro which credits MAGICAL with the release. This prototype has some small changes in comparison to the other prototype, but is mostly the same. For instance, the player is no longer invincible unlike the other prototype, but free movement mode is still enabled. Some palettes were altered here and there, but the sound track seems to be the same. What other differences can you find?
Next, an early prototype of Primal Rage for the Nintendo Game Boy! This prototype was donated to by JakeS909 before the holiday season, so we decided to release it so that others can spot the differences. This prototype contains many tiny changes in comparison to the final. What differences can you find?
These next Sega Mega Drive prototypes were generously donated to us by Baker64! First up, we have a prototype of the second revision of Granada which contains a few code related changes. Australian Rugby League is a very late prototype with only a few changes in the code and data. College Football USA 96 was built just a few days before final, and only contains a few byte changes in comparison to the final.
We'd like to thank everyone who donated things for us to share so far. It's people like you that make this community great. Without you, there's nothing we can't do.
Until next time! See you tomorrow!
