CVLT OF OSIRIS proudly presents this prototype build of the unreleased Maniac Moons for the PlayStation from 1999-02-25.

Notes

  • Some of the data on the disc dates to 1998-06-13, indicating that the game had been in development for at least 8 months when this build was created. It seems as though another 6-12 months would have been required to reach a finished title.
  • This build includes 21 levels, but only the first 8 are populated with structures and enemies.
  • Loading level 2 causes the game to crash, but it may be salvageable with modifications.
  • The player's craft is armed differently dependant upon the level. Some of the special weapons permanently deform the terrain.
  • The player is given one of two very different craft dependant on the level, indicating that the story may have been presented from the perspective of opposing factions or other differing points of view.
  • CVLT OF OSIRIS did not find any clues in the game data regarding the developer or publisher of Maniac Moons.
