A NTSC-U prototype of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the Sony PlayStation, dated 44 days before the final build.
This build is sourced from a bootleg disc, which appears to be in bad condition. Therefore, a correct dump cannot be created. Due to the similar file structure of the July 10, 1999 prototype, this builds HED, WAD and EXE files can be inserted into the later prototype to create a playable hybrid version. A good dump of this build is known to exist in the wild and is still needed.
Notes
- The main menu music is missing.
- Some skaters have different clothing.
- Every board in the Equipment Select menu is accessible. Unfinished boards with a "?" symbol are also selectable, but crash the game.
- Some levels, most notably San Francisco, are in an unfinished state.
- Instead of a static "Tape Challenges" screen, you can scroll between each challenge.
- Missing in-game "Sound Levels" menu.
- The skater starts glowing when the special meter is full.
- Going out of bounds in Downhill Jam ends the run.
- The run ends whether a combo is finished or not.
- While some special tricks are implemented, they're not registered as such.
- Point pick-ups are colored rings in this version.
- Instead of the Vandals' song "Euro-Barge", a track from their latest album at that time, this build uses an older song of theirs called "Change My Pants (I Don't Wanna)".
Cheat codes
To enter these codes, navigate to the in-game pause menu, hold down L1 and enter the code. A shaking pause screen will confirm a successful entry.
