A European prototype of FIFA Soccer 2005 for the PlayStation 2.

Notes

  • Dated 2 months and 15 days before the retail PAL build with lots of polish still needed at this point in time.
  • Languages other than English are playable if the console language is changed before starting although Korean and Japanese are incomplete, using dummy symbols for non-English text instead.
  • SFX for moving and selecting options are unique to this build, these would be changed most likely due to volume issues.
  • Promotional trailers for games such as NBA Live and NHL use versions taken from FIFA Soccer 2004.
  • 'Credits' appear visually broken along with 'Squad Management' although it is unconfirmed if these are emulation bugs.
  • 'EA Sports™ Jukebox' is in a rather rough state with multiple TEMP indicated tracks and a wildly different song with Devo, Depeche Mode and Violent Femmes featuring as extra unlockable music among others which were cut for the final game.
  • The 'Network Configuration' menu has visible debug text at the top right of the screen when entering it and seems to contain templates for (possibly) internal test servers for multiple EA Sports games including the previously mentioned NHL and NBA.
  • A feature called 'EA DNA™' was originally planned that allowed you to enter codes as a way to create new players although it seems rather unnecessary due to its restriction on custom/unofficial players only and would be removed for retail copies.
  • Menu backgrounds or player models can sometimes not load properly (or at all) when navigating menus.
  • The vast majority of teams and players have slightly different ratings while some are either missing badges, use placeholder kits or have other minor changes such as team sponsors that would be updated or player transfers that had yet to happen.
  • AI is unfinished as a small handful of teams will not play properly, instead deciding to stay in front of their goalkeeper.
