A prototype of the unreleased Madden NFL 96 for the Sony PlayStation.

Notes

• Developed by Visual Concepts, and was to be published by EA. The game was ultimately cancelled due to quality concerns, though the fact that wasn't going to hit shelves in 1995 was also said to play a factor.
• First screen shows build information, memory stats, where the player must press start.
• Rather elaborate opening credits sequence for the associated devs, etc. that superimposes the intro FMV.
• For this game, Circle advances menus and confirms selections, while X is the opposite.
• Includes fairly standard game parameters such as venue location, weather, game length, etc.
• Midi music in the main menus.
• Crash-prone, possibly missing data, as shown in one of the screenshots.
• Fair state of completion, including voice-over work. However, the game tends to be very slow to load the next action/event and gameplay itself is rather slow (and is prone to framerate drops).
• Still very buggy, though.
