A late build of the cancelled Postal III Xbox 360 port.
Notes
- This prototype is very similar, if not identical, to the one demonstrated at Gamescom 2010.
- Although it was originally playable, there were still corrupted files, however over time, kabojnk repaired the files making the build even more playable although there are still corrupted biks (which were replaced by placeholder videos).
- This build has several issues that occur during initialization, all of which can be worked around:
- Attempts to load a non-existent map named
background_p3
upon client/server dll initialization (when attempting to readscripts/chapterbackgrounds.txt
, and will softlock on the loading screen. Pass command line parameters-dvd -game p3 -nohl2hud +map main_menu
to forcibly load the main menu. - Do not directly invoke the XEX unless you drop in the relevant content dirs (
hl2
,episodic
,ep2
,movies
) from the Orange Box retail box copy. The relevant client/server libraries for Half-Life 2 and its episodes' X360 ports are not compatible with this build's engine fork and will crash the game if loaded in.
