Notes

  • Build crashes at intro and you need to change your time and date since GFx trial has expired preventing you from launching the build. The check only runs once at startup, so the clock can be set back to normal once the game is running.
  • There is nothing related to this project or game on the internet the only thing i found was SteamDB page that had 3 achievements about the game
  • server.exe was left out of the depot on purpose: ValveTestApp209480.spj lists CurrentExecutables\Server.* under [Exclude Files]. It's why the build never gets in-game but it's not the reason it crashes on boot.
  • Server.pdb was left in the depot, and this version's Client.exe matches its Client.pdb. That is enough to recover the network protocol: a re-implemented server can take the client past login and into the world.
  • Steam2 Content Server depot 209481, version 0.
  • Appears to have been developed by Paragon Studios, the developers of "City of Heroes", based on a list of names used in the Friends UI that include developers all working there at the time (Tim Sweeney, Sean McCann, Jimmy Vales). Builds are from shortly before that studio was shut down.
  • Game appears to be a survival building/crafting title with procedural terrain.
  • "Did you know that everyone's island is procedurally generated? Each island is unique." tips.xml
  • "In the final game, you'll be able to pick your own character and customize them to your liking." tips.xml
  • "You have collected a resource. Collect enough resources and you can craft weapons and tools." tips.xml
  • "Now that you've built a foundation piece, use the mouse wheel to scroll over to it in the hotbar." tips.xml
