A European demo build of Richard Burns Rally for the PlayStation 2.

Notes

  • European demo dated 3 months and 26 days before the final build.
  • Switching to Software Mode is needed for PCSX2 or else gameplay will only be half speed.
  • Logo order is slightly different with Warthog (lacking any sound), then the game intro (which acts more like a trailer here) and finally SCi appearing identical to final.
  • The initial loading screen has no pictures and 'Destination' in place of 'Loading'.
  • Main Menu has various oddities such as the order of 'Rally School' and 'Quick Rally' being switched around, the 'Richard Burns Challenge' being shortened to 'RBR Challenge' and no 'Credits' option.
  • The Subaru Impreza 2003 has the number 3 on its side instead of 1, a totally different set of rims and is in a brighter shade of blue along with looking a lot less reflective.
  • The aesthetic of menus is in a rougher state with text all being in the same color and options being spaced out more including a removed 'Car Setup' label in 'Rally School'.
  • Loading screens for rally stages use a bigger version of the preview image which covers the whole screen instead of half and lack hints/tips for the stage.
  • Logitech branding is textual rather than as a logo and there's no sign of a bumper cam.
  • The countdown timer lacks voices and is instead shown visually.
  • Pause Menu has certain options as single choices instead of being grouped into the 'Options' category seen in retail along with no way to either call for help or restart.
  • Directions appear more detailed with distances shown and vibrant color coding.
  • The recovering animation is different and uses steward models rather than bystanders.
  • End Race doesn't appear to have an option for saving progress and the order of 'Restart' and 'Exit To Main Menu' was switched over along with being able to view your stage time again by pressing back which was removed for the final build.
