A prototype of Smoke And Mirrors Shell for the Microsoft Xbox.

Notes

  • This is a dev shell that was used by the Danish game studio Hokus Pokus.
  • Launches into a debug menu where 5 levels can be selected. Each level (with the exception of Ducky) is a different pitch.
  • Contains four pitches:
    • Castle DunkelStein
    • Space Station
    • Mini Golf Madness
    • Ducky
  • Ducky appears to be a pitch for a Land Before Time game.
  • For whatever reasons, the watermark RW (which means RenderWare) displays at the bottom left on the screen.

Origin

Team Cerbios, has always been committed to preservation and providing the community with the tools needed to unlock and archive Xbox HDD content.

With community driven tools like Prometheos, XCAT and Pinecone, the scene has helped preserve countless DLCs and title updates, preserving gaming history for future generations.

Today, we’re excited to announce a special preservation effort that’s close to our roots in Denmark. We recently acquired a development kit that once belonged to a local defunct game studio "Hocus Pocus Games". This dev kit contained unreleased game content that hasn’t seen the light of day for over a 2 decades.

This game/demo has now been released into the public domain for the first time, celebrating and preserving a piece of Danish gaming heritage.

Smoke And Mirrors Shell

This has 5 different level maps. However you could probably edit the files to make your own maps etc.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Years.

Shoutout to Xbox-Scene and all teams out there contributing and releasing free tools, source & projects for this great system 20+ years later.
