A prototype of WarGames: Defcon 1 for the PlayStation.
Notes
- An NTSC-U build dated nearly two months before the final.
- Starts with an intro video which is different to the one used in the final.
- Loading screens are slightly unfinished and do not include a loading bar.
- Has "Alpha" on the upper-left corner of the title screen.
- The logo on the title screen looks a bit different.
- The campaign type and level are not captioned on the main menu, and each use different icons.
- Has no music.
- The icons on the options menu are unfinished and look quite primitive.
- All missions appear to be enabled by default and selectable from the beginning, with the exception that the final level asks you to enter a code into the passgrid. The effects of using the grid appear to cause visual glitches.
- A number of text strings are different - e.g. "SELECT A LEVEL" rather than "SELECT MISSION".
- The in-game HUD is quite different.
- Has a crash handler screen which can be seen by loading certain levels.
- Contains a .MAP file.
