A prototype of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for the Microsoft Xbox 360.

(Need more detail on the old BO1 menu) Will check in a few weeks.

Notes

  • Build is 364 days before release.
  • Build is mostly stable. Can run into crashing if bots are spawned. There are some random crashes within the menus but not often.
  • By default the multiplayer menu will boot into a preliminary version of the new menu. The preliminary version doesn't allow for offline matches. Use lui_enabled 0 to access the Black Ops 1 menu. (This also works with campaign)
  • Campaign menu looks different and features different missions depending on LUI. (0-Old BO1 menu or 1-New Early BO2 Menu)
  • This build requires default.bik to start correctly (atleast on Xenia). Use one from a different Call of Duty game or build of Black Ops II to get this build to start correctly.
  • Looking at the files, there appear to be leftover files relating to other multiplayer maps, singleplayer and the zombies mode.

Details

General:

  • Titled "Greenlight" build, Only has two maps Yemen and Aftermath in early stages.
  • In the new menu, the campaign mode does not work but you can view the contents in-game.
    • To access campaign through this method: open the patched xex, then click Main Menu, you will get redirected to the new main menu.
  • Can play multiplayer with bots but you're likely to crash.

Campaign:

  • In the BO2 menu, the campaign features a list of BO2 missions. When selected, you are presented with a very early prototype of the campaign's class setup. It is very basic and features weapons in set of columns and rows.

Multiplayer:

  • There are early renditions of BO2 Weapons mixed with some BO1 assets/sounds.
    • Perks and Killstreaks are a mess but showcase some cut/early content.
    • Some notable Killstreaks:
      • Shrike - Remote controlled quad rotor drone strapped with explosives.
      • Eagle Overwatch - Get personal air support from a Eagle Overwatch
      • Satellite Recon (Early Orbital VSAT) - Shows both enemy position and direction on the mini-map. Cannot be shot down.
      • Assault Helicopter (Likely an early Stealth Chopper) - Call in a Viper Assault Helicopter.
      • Switchblades - Call in a swarm of lethal mini-drones that search and destroy enemies.
      • Gunship
      • The Guardian turret was named H.P.M. (High Powered Microwave turret) early on.
      • Hellstorm Missile was named Cruise Missile
      • X-47 Pegasus (Early version of Lodestar) - Lase missile targets remotely from the X-47 Pegasus.
