Notes
The Cutting Room Floor research
This build was found in a QA archive disc created by a former employee of SCE Cambridge Studio. The disc contains a build of MediEvil: Resurrection, a demo of WipEout Pure, and of course the LittleBigPlanet alpha. Two files are included in this release; A standalone .iso extracted from the disc, as well as the raw CD containing all three builds.
- XMB Metadata is different, with placeholder text and more simplistic art. Notably, the game is referred to as "Little Big Planet PSP", rather than "LittleBigPlanet™".
- Unlike the final game, the main data archive (lbp_archive.psarc) is not encrypted.
- Debugging features are enabled by default, though many options don't appear to do anything. Press L + R at any time to open the debug menu.
- Create mode is present and can be unlocked by finishing Down Under. However, it is very' unpolished. Proceed with caution when exploring it, as many assets will cause the game to crash.
- Miscellaneous Notes:
- Recent versions of PPSSPP fail to boot the game (as of January 11, 2024); v0.9.8 is known to work.
