A prototype of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex for the PlayStation 2.
Notes
The Cutting Room Floor research
- Features a scrapped minigame on the loading screens when entering a level, which Konami requested to remove it at the last minute to avoid potential legal issues as Namco had a patent on loading screen minigames.
- In this minigame, Crash is falling and a bunch of Wumpa fruit are raining down. He must collect the Wumpa fruit while avoiding the eaten ones, or he will lose 3 fruit. The fruit you collect on the loading screen will be carried into the main tally once the level starts.
- The startup loading screen is the same as elsewhere in the game, rather than "LOADING" in front of a black background.
- A loading screen inbetween the two sections of the opening cutscene is present.
- The warp room lacks the platform in the center.
- Boss buttons lack the smoke particle effect.
- You can step on the boss buttons that are not yet available. In the final game, an invisible barrier prevents this.
- Music volume is defaulted to 60% instead of 75%.
- Miscellaneous Notes:
- Game is emulatable (in PCSX2): Yes (as of June 24, 2024).
- Game contains dongle protection: No.
