Silent Hill 2 (Jul 13, 2001 prototype)
🎃🎃🎃Happy Halloween!🎃🎃🎃
Almost a decade a go, we released a couple of Silent Hill goodies on the site for many to enjoy. For this festive occasion, we were donated with yet another Silent Hill 2 prototype! This one is very interesting in comparison to the earlier prototype, as this prototype reflects a somewhat complete build with less cut out to make way for the demo portion. Unlike the earlier build, this represents the beginning portion of the game right up until the "boss" fight with Pyramid Head. There are many subtle changes to discover, and much more included on the disc. Who knows what else can be discovered through hacking?
This prototype was generously donated to us by Ratiocinator who is the creator of Letter From Silent Heaven, which is one of the largest Silent Hill 2 fan sites on the internet! He dumped this and various other rare Silent Hill 2 discs using the Redump.org methodology in order to produce the most accurate dump possible. He has written extensive coverage on the prototype on his site which you can read here!.
Finally, a special thank you to Bigmanjapan, Whitney, punnypunypony, Jokie, RetroRomper, and FakeShemp. Their contributions helped the release of this prototype.
Stay tuned for more exciting things soon!
Until next time!
