A prototype of Kao the Kangaroo for the Dreamcast.

Notes

• KAO.PAK is around 13mb larger than in the final.
• Starts up immediately to a control layout screen.
• From that screen, it goes to the intro sequence (no logos, disclaimers, etc.).
• "Not for sale" is overlaid in the bottom-right, throughout.
• No title screen, just the direct main menu.
• No VMU prompt.
• Game does not save.
• Different order of selections on the main menu.
  • The Exit selection restarts to the control layout screen.
• Pressing L + Y while in game toggles a coordinate display.
• This build is generally laggier than the final.
• The camera doesn't track Kao's turning most of the time. In fact, it often doesn't transition in many places like it's supposed to. Pressing R will help the camera move to it's proper position where applicable.
• The HUD elements are at different positions.
• Some of the levels are inaccessible normally, however they are all present, and can be played if they are unlocked by cheats/memory editing.
• Some object layout differences here and there.
• No bonus level splash graphic.
• Different percussion on the title screen music track.
• Level 21 has a completely different music track, one which cannot be found in the final.
• Level 28 is almost unplayably laggy in many places, and also has no fog.
• Level 29's music track is at a lower tempo than in the final.
• Most of the bonus level music tracks are not present.
• The final boss is present and can be beaten, however upon attemping to load the final cutscene, the game tends to halt with a memory allocation error.
