A prototype of Mortal Kombat: Deception for the PlayStation 2.
Notes
The Cutting Room Floor research
- Built ten days before the final US build.
- There exists stage data for Acid Bath, a stage from the previous game within MKDA.PAK. It goes unused here, as the stage data would later be removed in the retail build.
- Internally known as version 0.082, the retail version was 0.098.
- Some fonts were not updated for Deception yet. An example of this can be found on the arcade ladder.
- Noob appears without Smoke on the arcade ladder.
- Noob-Smoke has a different fighter icon.
- The game says fatality after Onaga explodes upon defeating him.
- A flashing green glow appears around the mission complete text in Konquest.
- The background for the mission complete box is colored green instead of yellow.
- Konquest also has some minor text differences with Chaos Pendants and the krypt keys that unlock Dairou's alternate costume and the Dragon King temple arena.
- Miscellaneous Notes:
- Game is emulatable (in PCSX2): Yes (as of March 17, 2021).
- Game contains dongle protection: No.
