A prototype of an unreleased variant of the Activision TV Games Plug & Play system running on SNES hardware.
Notes
- Developed by DC Studios for Toymax
- The released version runs on NES hardware
- This prototype is comprised of two separate ROMs, both of which contain the main menu:
- 3game-18-08-00.smc, which also contains three games (Crack Pots, Pitfall, and Boxing)
- riverraid-18-08-00.smc, which also contains River Raid
- Selecting any other game on both ROMs goes back to the main menu
- 3game-18-08-00.smc has an updated main menu, which has different palettes for the cursor and "GO!" text, and a new screen with a description of each game, which appears instead of immediately proceeding to gameplay/going back to the main menu
- Visuals appear as intended on ZSNES compared to other emulators
- Contains an associated readme file, labeled 3game.txt:
This rom contains three of the games:
Crackpots
Pitfall
Boxing
It has also been updated to work with an improved
menu system which still has some work to be done
on it.
None of the other games use this menu as there was
little point in taking more time to do this when
we wouldn't need to on the final hardware.
